Dear Artists, Art Lovers and producers of the North American Body Paint Championships,

It pains me to have to take action in this way.

My fairy tale experience of finishing first place in the 2011 North American Body Paint Championships has been tainted by the producers inability to act upon their end of the bargain. I have yet to receive a dime of the $5,000 prize money that was guaranteed for the win in March 2011. Instead, I've received several false updates and straight out lies, and one bounced check for half the amount ($2500) which is considered a felony in the state of Texas.

Still down $2700 in expenses after having participated in this event, and my inability to participate in future creative opportunities because of lack of funds, it is starting to take a toll on my business and artwork.

As I understand, I am not the only winner of the ten finalists dealing with this issue. I encourage the others of you, to please step forward and file your complaints so this issue can be made public. Artists should not be taken advantage of.

I have been extremely patient throughout this ordeal, on several occasions never receiving as little as an update.

Due to the fact that I currently no longer receive any response from Lisa Richardson, producer of the North American Body Paint Championships, who continues to benefit off the use of my artwork performed during the event, I am forced to take legal action.

I WILL NOT TOLERATE BUSINESSES TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ARTISTS

Please note, I gave every opportunity for Lisa Richardson and the North American Body Paint Championships to follow through on their end of the deal. Fortunately, my attorneys will deal with it from here.

All evidence and information has been forwarded to the Dallas local police, State, District and Federal authorities including the Dallas Media.

If you do not support businesses taking advantage of artists, please share this with as many people as you can.

Paul Roustan
